The Dental Bonding Procedure
The material we use for dental bonding is a composite resin, which is hardened by shining a special kind of light onto it. During the process, the dentist will reshape the material to ensure a perfect shape around your teeth.
The first step consists of placing an etching solution on your tooth – this will help strengthen the bond between the bonding material and the tooth. In the second step, the composite resin is added in layers and is shaped accordingly. Finally, the bonding material is shaped and polished to ensure it is smooth and matches the other teeth.
Generally, a dental bonding procedure takes one to two hours to complete, depending on the complexity.
